Janet Dewitt

Jan is the Chief Operating Officer of Meridian Rehabilitation and has been part of the organization for  25 years. Prior to joining Meridian, she served as the Director of Recreation Therapy Services at a long-term care facility. She joined Meridian in 2001 as one of the organization's original team members, beginning her career as a Rehabilitation Assistant working primarily with individuals who had sustained traumatic brain injuries.

Over the years, Jan has taken on progressively larger leadership and operational responsibilities, helping guide Meridian's growth from a team of three employees in Vernon to an organization of more than 75 employees across eight locations, including two international sites. In March 2025, she assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer.

Jan’s known for her thoughtful, practical problem-solving skills, and solution-focused approach to her leadership and, she is passionate about helping Meridian continue to grow while preserving the values and culture that have defined the organization since its early days.

Outside of work, Jan enjoys spending time on the family farm in Sicamous with her husband and grandchildren. Whether building forts in the forest, tending vegetable gardens, caring for animals, or cheering from the sidelines at hockey, baseball, and softball games, she treasures opportunities to watch her grandchildren learn, grow, and explore.
