Tatyana Dikareva

LocationKamloops

Tatyana is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Originally from Ukraine, she understands the experience of starting over in a new place and finding your footing in an unfamiliar environment. Since moving to Kamloops in 2012, she has come to deeply value the sense of community and connection that makes the city feel like home.

Tatyana’s approach to counselling is shaped not only by her professional training, but also by her own life experiences. After losing both of her parents to cancer in her twenties, she came to understand grief in a very personal way — the loneliness, the overwhelm, and the ways loss can change us. Those experiences led her to this work and continue to guide the compassion and care she brings into the counselling room.

She works with clients from a trauma- and grief-informed lens, helping people reconnect with a sense of safety, trust, and inner resilience. Tatyana believes healing happens through authentic connection and collaboration, and she strives to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and accepted as they are.

Her work integrates a range of approaches depending on each client’s needs, including Person-Centered Counselling, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Polyvagal-informed approaches. She is also trained in EMDR, Sandtray EMDR, and Observed & Experiential Integration (OEI), which are therapies designed to support healing at both emotional and nervous system levels.

Through therapy, Tatyana supports clients in developing greater self-compassion, emotional awareness, nervous system regulation, and more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others. She feels honoured to walk alongside people as they navigate life’s challenges and reconnect with their own capacity for healing and growth.

Outside of her counselling work, Tatyana enjoys road trips, reading and learning new things, and spending time connecting with friends.
