Spinal Cord Rehabilitation

spinalcordOur therapists have specialized training to meet the diverse needs of individuals living with spinal cord injury in the community. Services include:

  • Assessment and prescription of assistive technology, including seating and positioning devices (Ride Certified therapists)
  • Home access assessment and recommendations
  • Upper extremity neurological rehabilitation, including splinting
  • Skin and wound assessment, awareness and prevention
  • Consultation on complications related to aging with a spinal cord injury
  • Consultation on neurological bowel and bladder
  • Caregiver training

Case management services are also offered to support individuals through progression of the various stages of recovery including consultation with acute rehabilitation staff, transition to community and for those individuals who are many years post injury. The priority of our treatment is to facilitate and maintain independence at your home while implementing strategies based on evidence based outcomes for spinal cord injury.
