Many of our occupational therapists and kinesiologists have recently completed a full-day Concussion Management Workshop. This course reviews the symptoms of concussion, recent evidence on how to screen and treat concussion symptoms in the early phase, as well as symptoms that persist weeks and months post-injury.

Concussion management┬áis complex and individualized — every concussion is unique!

– Headache
– Dizziness
– Nausea
– Fatigue
– Sensitivity to light and/or sound
– Difficulties with concentration and memory


Recent research shows that the best approach for concussion management may include:
– Education on concussion symptoms, return to sport, school and work
– Reduced daily activity that gradually increase towards pre-injury status
Physical exercise
– Vision therapy
– Vestibular therapy

At Meridian we value a customized, team-based approach. Our therapists are able to assess individuals with concussions and develop a targeted program to get them back to work, school, or other activities that are important to them. We work closely with other health professionals to help our clients achieve their goals!
